The disposable bolster protector covers the bolster, leaving the ends open. It acts as a filter against dust and bacteria trapped in the bolster filling and bolster case. It also protects against the transfer of secretions and body odors. In addition to preventing soiling, the protector also prevents premature wear of this bedding item.

It is made of non-woven fabric. Non-wovens formed by melt-spinning first appear as polymer pellets, which are then melted and drawn through a die. The resulting fibers are either stretched by cold air (S = Spunbond) or by hot air (M = meltblown).

The strength of a non-woven fabric depends on the one hand on the strength and resistance of the fibers themselves, and on the other hand on the forces that bind these fibers together.
